In its latest publication about “Top 21 Beaches in the World”, National Geographic has also listed “Playa del Amor (Hidden Beach) in its list. Playa de Amor also called as “Hidden Beach” is one of the most beautiful beaches across the world.
This lush green island with a gaping hole is not less than a safe paradise for its visitors. Its amazing ample shade with a crystal-clear water pleases tourists by all means. Located at Las Islas Marietas, Playa del Amor was not only included in the list by National Geographic, but was on top as well.
There can be a number of reasons that the channel chose this beautiful beach to be on top. Its excellent surf waves and enviable stretches of sand attract millions of tourists every year from across the world.
Also called as “Geological Marvel” because of the ring of stone, it is the only beach in Mexico, or in fact in the world, that has got a stunning shade given by nature. You may have heard about different rumors that the hole was a result of some deliberate bombing, but no one has 100% authentic information about it. In the early 1900s, so many weapons and bombs were tested on the Marietas Islands that caused a number of caves and rock formation. There are chances that this beautiful hidden beach was also a result of some test bombing.
The beach is invisible from the outside and you can only access through it using a water tunnel linking the beach to the Pacific Ocean. People can arrive at the beach by kayaking or swimming. Though the island is uninhabited, you will see a rush of tourists who come from far and wide to visit this one of the best vacation spots in Mexico.
