Two Puerto Vallarta Icons to be Restored by Year’s End
Enrique Ramos Flores, the Jalisco Tourism Secretary, said during an interview with AZ Noticias that before he retires from his position in December, two very important projects – rebuilding the Cuale River staircase and rehabilitating Los Muertos Pier that will greatly benefit Puerto Vallarta will be completed before his current administration ends.
Ramos Flores stated, although they do not currently have the resources to carry out both projects, the issues would be resolved with the participation of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, City Council and Jalisco Tourism Secretary during the coming months.
The biggest concern and issue is the Isla Rio Cuale project stated Romos Flores which the governor of the state made a commitment to the rebuilding of the staircase that leads to the island. Approximately one million pesos will be invested for this project.
Over the past few years, the Los Muertos Pier has become an emblem to Puerto Vallarta and is a high priority for the rehabilitation. Ramos Flores strongly stated maintenance must be performed on a permanent basis to prevent deterioration of the Los Muertos Pier and would be the municipal government’s responsibility.
There is a high risk to the Los Muertos Pier suffering major damage because of its current condition and this project warrants both state and municipality support on the pier project.
