Kicking off the season on April 6, 2025, the sixth annual Puerto Vallarta Marathon will feature a new course starting and ending at Puerto Mágico. Runners can participate in 42K, 21K, 10K, or 5K races, with the 42K race qualifying for major international events like the Boston Marathon.
Also on April 6, the ninth annual Feria del Taco (Taco Fest) will take place from 2 pm to 11 pm on the esplanade of Puerto de Luna Hotel, located in the heart of the Hotel Zone. More than 40 varieties of tacos, from carnitas and suadero to shrimp and seafood specialties, will be prepared by 17 Puerto Vallarta taquerias and restaurants. Guests can enjoy live music, craft beer, mezcal tastings, refreshing aguas frescas, and local desserts. Entrance is free.
From May 2 to 9, the 19th annual Vallarta Azteca Folkloric Dance Festival (FESTVA) will showcase folkloric dance traditions, hosting groups from states across Mexico, alongside guest dance troupes from Colombia, Chile, and Poland. The festival’s goal is to create bonds of peace and brotherhood between the groups and countries involved, and provide Puerto Vallarta residents and visitors with a celebration that brings the colors, music, and traditions of Mexico to life through dance. Free performances will occur at the Los Arcos Amphitheater and Plaza Pitillal.
Following this, Restaurant Week, from May 15 to June 10, 2025, sample some of the best food in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit at exceptional prices. Participating restaurants offer discounts on innovative three-course menus (with three options each), with dishes crafted by seasoned chefs and emerging culinary talents. Inspired by other culinary festivals, the first edition of Vallarta Restaurant Week was held in 2005. Since then, it has positioned itself as one of international foodies’ favorite culinary events.
Vallarta Pride, from May 17 to 25, 2025, will include parades, parties, and cultural events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. This year’s theme, “The Future Has No Gender,” will be reflected in events like the March Against Homophobia, the Red Gala, a photographic exhibition, and the Pride Parade and Block Party.
