Puerto Vallarta Begins Reopening To Tourists

Last week with the announcement by Governor Enrique Alfaro the reopening as of June 1st for private villas, condos, hotels, and resorts can begin operations as long as they comply with new Covid-19 preventative measures.

After the gradual reopening of businesses in Puerto Vallarta was announced last week, various national and international airlines will be resuming flights to this popular beach vacation destination starting in June.

Airlines Offering International Flights to Puerto Vallarta:

• Aeromexico confirmed that it would be relaunching flights to and from Canada and the United States starting June 1.

• Air Canada is expected to restart operations on July 4th, with one direct flight from Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta per week.

• Alaska Airlines will resume daily flights to Vallarta from Los Angeles starting May 31st.

• American Airlines has already resumed daily flights from Dallas to Puerto Vallarta.

• Delta Airlines will resume operations in the first week of June with a gradual increase in weekly flights from Los Angeles to Puerto Vallarta.

• Sun Country will resume operations to Puerto Vallarta in July, with bi-weekly flights from Dallas that will gradually increase to daily.

• Sunwing has announced flights to Puerto Vallarta starting the second week of October from Toronto, Calgary, and Edmonton.

• United Airlines will resume operations to Puerto Vallarta the first week of June. Departure cities to be announced.

• WestJet has announced direct flights from Vancouver to Vallarta will resume during the first week of July.

Airlines Offering Domestic Flights to Puerto Vallarta:

• Aeromar will resume daily flights from Mexico City on June 1.

• Aeroméxico already operates three weekly flights between Mexico City and Vallarta, from June 1 flights will be daily.

• Interjet continues to offer twice-weekly flights between Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City, but will resume daily flights in the second week of June.

• Magnicharters will resume operations with twice-weekly flights to Mexico City, and daily flights to Monterrey, starting June 11.

• TAR will resume flights with different frequencies from Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Querétaro and San Luís Potosí, starting June 1.

• Vivaerobus continues to operate two flights per week to Mexico City and another two to Tijuana, from June 1 it will resume daily frequencies.

• Volaris will increase the frequency of flights from Mexico City and Tijuana as of June 1.

Note: All airlines are enforcing security measures that guarantee the health of passengers. Strict cleaning and sanitizing measures are in place at the Puerto Vallarta Airport, where all travelers are subject to health screenings.
