While domestic travel is booming, the international market has faced a downturn. In July, the airport saw 229,100 international passengers, a 5.1% decrease from the previous year. Despite this, the airport’s strong performance overall shows that Puerto Vallarta remains a popular destination, particularly for travelers from within Mexico.
The success in Puerto Vallarta is part of a larger positive trend across many of GAP’s airports in Mexico. Overall, the 12 Mexican airports managed by GAP saw a 1.8% increase in passenger traffic in July 2025. Airports in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta saw increases, while Los Cabos remained stable.
